Government of Russia proposes to ban the production and sale of conventional incandescent lamps of any power from 1 January 2014. Head of Economic Development and Trade Elvira Nabiullina estimated the cost of translation of five Russian consumers from incandescent to energy efficient light sources (fluorescent and LED) to 100 billion rubles. Under the plan the cabinet transition to energy efficient lamps will occur in stages. Next year will be devoted to the removal from circulation of inefficient light bulbs rated at more than 100 watts. From 1 January 2011 to acquire state institutions have already banned without exception bulb. Energy-saving lamps are called fluorescent lamps, which are included in the larger category of gas-discharge light sources. The main advantage of energy saving lamps is their high luminous efficacy, while filament lamps up to 90% of the electricity goes just for heating a tungsten wire. Another advantage of energy saving lamps is their life, which exceeds the life of conventional incandescent light bulbs by 20 times. The vast majority of Russian enterprises producing fluorescent tubes, are the assembly. The end of 2010 its own production of energy efficient lamps, plans to launch a public corporation Rostekhnologii. After a 2014 state regulation of tariffs will be abolished and the cost of domestic consumers will increase by 2,5-3 times.
