Rosaeronavigatsia abolished by presidential decree.
Functions of the Federal Air Navigation Service transferred Rosaviatsiya and Rostransnadzor.
President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree "On measures to improve state regulation in the field of aviation", which abolished the Federal Air Navigation Service. Most of its functions transferred to Federal Air Transport Agency - Rosaviatsiya. Options Rosaeronavigatsia oversight in the use of airspace, air navigation service to users of the airspace of Russia and Aerospace Search and Rescue are transferred to the Federal Service for Transport Supervision - Rostransnadzor.
Creating a single body of civil aviation will contribute to more efficient and quality work in the field of civil aviation and greater alignment with the industry in Russia with international standards.
Experts believe that such changes are now necessary, because the country has created a situation in which, despite the abundance of the aviation authorities, in fact, the officials really are not responsible for what happens in the field of civil aviation.
In Russia there are five aviation agencies - Ministry of Transport, Rosaviatsiya, Rostransnadzor, Rosaeronavigatsia and the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC).
Rosaeronavigatsia, established in February 2006, was responsible for air traffic, radio navigation software safety, air navigation services, search and rescue security of civil aviation.
