Relations between Russia and the two Caucasian states will continue to be based on international law. Our borders are open for business, cultural and simple human contact. President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev stated that "it is certainly a historic event that we all went very easy, and peoples of these republics in its literal sense of the word suffer." Russia intends to support the financial systems of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, as well as to pursue a policy of economic integration with the republics. Agreements with Abkhazia will be awarded in various areas - border and customs, as well as on free trade, taxation, monetary and banking system. In the Catherine Hall of the Kremlin Russia agreed on the military bases on the territory of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Signed treaties stipulate that our countries will jointly take the necessary measures to remove threats to peace and to counter the attacks of aggression. Abkhazia and South Ossetia have applied for membership in the Union State and the CSTO. Gazhdane Abkhazia and South Ossetia are now officially able to hold dual citizenship, and Russia will represent the interests of the republics in the international arena.
